Breckland Master Gardeners

Garden Organic and Breckland Council have joined forces to launch a new Breckland Master Gardener volunteer network.  Building on the last 3 years of Master Gardener volunteering across Norfolk, we are looking for new volunteers to help people get growing.
This is a great opportunity to kickstart a community project, perhaps develop a community kitchen garden or set up a fruit orchard.  Other possibilities include supporting new young gardeners in a local school, helping new allotment holders to keep motivated, encouraging a community group to transform an area of waste land into something decorative and productive.
We are looking for community-minded folk who have some gardening experience, no need to be an expert, but enough experience to get novice growers started with seed-sowing and general plant care to nurture from seedling to harvest.  I’ve attached our poster and a summary handout, explaining more about the volunteer opportunity and what impact it has been having on those involved.
I’d be delighted to chat to you further about this, either over the phone or at a meeting.  We are recruiting for our forthcoming foundation course at the end of March, so time is limited and your help in sharing this news is most appreciated.
many thanks
Gabbie
